NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TOWN OF NELSON
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that there has been presented to the Town Board of the Town of Nelson, New York, at a regular meeting thereof held on September 12, 2024, proposed Local Law No. E-2024, titled, “A Local Law Overriding the Tax Levy limit Established in General Municipal law §3-c in the Town of Nelson.” Said Local Law, if enacted, would override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of Nelson, County of Madison pursuant to General Municipal Law §3-c, and to allow the Town of Nelson to adopt a Town budget for (a) Town purposes; (b) fire protection districts; and (c) any other special or improvement district governed by the Town Board for the fiscal year 2025, that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the “tax levy limit” as defined by the General Municipal Law §3-c. The full text of said Local Law is on file at the Town Clerk’s Office at the Nelson Town Offices located at 4085 Nelson Road, Cazenovia, New York for inspection by all interested persons.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that on September 12, 2024, the Town Board determined that this proposed Local Law is an unlisted action and will have no significant adverse impact on the environment (SEQR).
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Town Board will hold a public hearing on the proposed Local Law at the Nelson Town Office located at 4085 Nelson Road, Cazenovia, New York 13035 on October 10, 2024 at 6:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, at which time all persons interested will be heard.
